Sasori (サソリ) is a former Third Generation member of the Knights of the Purple Smoke.

Appearance

Sasori is a slim man with dark, swept-back hair. He wears hair-ornaments that resemble scorpion stingers at the end of his side bangs. He has a stylized sun-shaped tattoo on his forehead, similar to Gold. He wears the standard Knights of the Purple Smoke uniform.

Abilities

Sasori is a Third-Generation pyrokinetic that can use his Ignition Ability to create a massive scorpion tail made of flames.

Plot

Operation Nether Investigation arc

Upon the Special Fire Force Company 2 and 8 entering the Netherworld and being assaulted by Infernals, Sasori and another White-Clad approaches Tamaki Kotatsu. Engaging in battle with her, Sasori attempts to stab the girl with his blade, but is repelled away by a headbutt from Gustav Honda, who is accompanied by Akitaru Ōbi. Engulfing Company 8's captain in flames, Akitaru emerges unfazed and punches Sasori, instantly knocking him unconsious.

Etymology

Like other members of the White-Clad, Sasori's name is in relation to his Ignition Ability.

• The name Sasori is written in katakana (サソリ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (蠍), it could possibly mean "scorpion".
